You’ll notice a major shakeup in in the ranks for week 2; week one brought some surprises so this is a reflection of who I think is going to be for real and who is just a fraud.
1. Peterson @ Det- How Can’t he be number one?
2. Jacobs @ Dal - love the match up and killed Dallas last year: 117 and a TD
3. Jones-Drew vs. Arz- He looked great last week and we should expect more of the same
4. D. Williams @ ATL- went for 101 and a TD at Atlanta last season
5. C. Johnson vs. Hou - Avg. 4.8 a carry vs. Texans in ‘08
6. T. Jones vs. NE - Pats D is overrated and he should be fed the ball as NE schemes to mess with Sanchez
7. Portis vs. STL- The Rams are terrible, Campbell is terrible. Look for lot of Portis this week
8. F. Jackson vs. TB- looked unworldly on Monday night, should see more of the same
9. Westbrook vs. NO - Looked health last week and should light up bad Saints D10. Westbrook vs. NO - Looked health last week and should light up bad Saints D
10. Gore vs. Sea - 5.2 ypc vs. Seattle at home last season.
11. Turner vs. Car- His 4TD game at home vs. Carolina last season but look for Falcons to load up the box with Delhomme’s awfulness in effect.
12. Grant vs. Cin - Should tear up Bengals D with heavy concentration on stopping the passing attack
13. McFadden @ KC - best game of career came last season @ KC. 21-164-1
14. Slaton @ Ten- Bad match up on paper but 119.5 ypg vs. Ten in ‘08.
15. Rice @ SD - Chargers looked bad against the ground attack of Raiders and Ravens may be best running attack in league.
16. R. Brown vs Ind- More of a statement of how bad Colts run D is without Bob Sanders
17. Forte vs. Pit - Top 5 talent but very, very bad match up this week
18. K. Smith vs. Min- Bad match up but can make things happen in passing game
19. Parker @ Chi - Bears’ D hurting and Parker wants to show he’s not done yet
20. S. Jackson @ Wash - Rams need to get Jackson more involved to have any chance of success here.
21. MB3 vs. NYG- Highest rushing total in last 8 games came in 2006 and it was only 76 yds
22. L. Johnson vs. Oak - Ran for 92 and a TD vs. Raiders last year and he needs to make a statement soon
23. Lewis @ Den- Quinn can’t make anything happen so look for Lewis to have the rock a lot here
24. Addai @ Mia - Colts need to get running game on the go to get back high octane offence
25. Benson @ GB- He’ll be fed the ball over and over
26.Tomlinson vs Balt - Looked awful @ Oakland and this just doesn’t look good for him. It’s not an indictment on him for the year, just not this week.
27. J. Jones@ SF - Decent match up usually makes for a decent play. Should work well as a flex again this week.
28. C, Williams @ Buf - looked good last week but I’m not completely sold until I see more this week
29. M. Bell @ Phi - Don’t like the match up at all, he won’t be able to rack up garbage time stats against the Eagles
30. White vs. Hou - if he gets his touches, should make the most of them
31. W. McGahee @ SD- was good last week and chargers are susceptible to the run
32. Sproles vs. Balt - could actually pile up more yards than LT but less likely to score
33. M. Bush @ KC - killed in KC last year, 16-90-1 could repeat itself. If you’re feeling daring get him in there.
34. Buckhalter vs. Cle- Got the most carries last week and had a great matchup
35. Hightower @ Jax - Don’t look for a repeat of the 12 catches.
36. L. Washington vs. NE- Could be a big sleeper. But it’s hard to know when he’s going to bust those big games out. If he gets 19 touches like last week, he’ll out perform this ranking
37.D. Ward @ Buf - Still need to see more of how this time share works
38. J Stewart @ ATL - Meh
39.A. Bradshaw @ Dal - Ward did well vs. Dallas but Bradshaw can’t catch like Ward
40. F. Jones vs. NYG- Always a threat to bust one loose
Keep an Eye on:
Ricky Williams - could pick up some yards and TD against a bad Colts run D
Reggie Bush- Could catch a ton of short passes if Eagles D shuts down the run game
D. Brown- Will eventually have a his break out game
K. Moreno- Greta Match up but he also had one last week. Still looks banged up
