I was dead on with Seattle and Tennessee last week and missed on Dallas. I was almost dead on on the score of the Saints/Lions game, I had 45-30, it was 45-27. Who’s gonna be good this week? Lets find out.
Atlanta at home vs Carolina
What’s not to like about this match up? Atlanta forced four turnovers from a Miami team that doesn’t turn the ball over too much. This week they get the human turnover machine Jake Delhomme. John Abraham will get the pressure on him early and often so look for some passes to end up in the hands of Falcon defenders.
Redskins at home vs St. Louis
I picked on the Rams last week to great success and I’m going to the well again this week in Washington. The Rams couldn’t move the ball at all against the Seahawks and will find it even harder against a better ‘skins defense. My crystal ball shows me few points for the rams and some turnovers.
Shocker of the Week
Denver at home vs Cleveland
I’m not 100% sold on this one but Denver looked good vs. Bengals last week, who have a better offence than the Browns. This is more of an indictment of the Browns’ offence than how good the Bronco’s D is. They’ll want to keep Cleveland off the field so look for a low scoring affair unless Cribbs can bust another return loose.
Kickers:
Some match ups I think work well for kickers:
Neil Rackers @ Jacksonville
John Carney @ Philadelphia
Jay Feely vs. Carolina
Seabass @ KC
Kris Brown @ Tennessee
If you’re really hurting this week:
Sleepers:
QB- Shaun Hill vs. Seattle. Played the role of game manager last week with Gore getting stuffed on every run. I see a better week for Gore which means another man in the box to stop him leaving the field open for Hill to make some passes. I like him for a TD or 2, possibly one on the ground this week.
RB- Leon Washington vs. Patriots. I like the Jets’ run game and Ponce de Leon will have a great chance to find his fountain of youth, the end zone, this week. He will get his touches: a few up the middle, a few screens and a few returns should help him rack up the points.
RB- Michael Bush @ KC- He’s proved that he can pound the rock and that should come in handy this week. The Raiders put up over 330 yards on the ground at KC last year and it seems Tom Cable is looking to use Bush on 40% of the carries.
WR- Santana Moss vs STL- Well he is not a “sleeper” per say to most people, I would never really play him any week, outside of games at Dallas but I like the way this is setting up for him. He’s coming off a bad game last week and will want to be more involved against the terrible Rams. Except big things.
WR- Donald Driver vs Cincinnati- The Packers are going to score at will in this game and I like Driver to get in on the action.
WR- Isaac Bruce vs Seattle - I liked the way that Hill looked for him last week and if there’s a team that Bruce know like the back of his hand, it’s the Seahawks. On a side note: I’m pretty sure a Seahawk is not a real bird. Their symbol looks like an Osprey but a Seahawk, I would think, is a seagull. Weird stuff.
TE- Brent “The Tent” Celek- The Tent is going to set up camp about 8 yards over the middle and will probably be the only guy that Kolb can make it to.
