Streaming Defenses and Kickers

A spattering of defenses and kickers to think about:

Defenses:

Cincinnati

The Bengals’ defense has been top 10 so far and they get a great match up against the Browns. I like Antwan Odom to add to his league leading 7 sacks and the secondary to come up with a few turnovers. They are available in 77% of leagues and make a fantastic play this week.

San Francisco

The Rams always make a good fantasy play out of the opposing defense and this week should be no exception. The 49ers should be able to curb the points and force a few turnovers. They are available in 70% of leagues and should be played this week, just like every week, they rank as the 8th overall defense for the year.

Sleeper:

Washington should make the Bucs look equally as terrible as everyone else does. While they don’t force too many turnovers I think they are a safe 7-11 points this week as they limit Tampa to few points.

Kickers:

While kickers are almost impossible to predict I’ll take a shot at it.

Joe Nedney SF: the 49ers have trouble in the red zone and that always bodes well for the kicker. You can go grab him in 86% of leagues, which is crazy as he’s been a top 10 option on the season. He’s perfect on the season and that includes a 50+ yarder.

Matt Prater Den: Kicking in the mile high city has its benefits as it allows a bit of extra distance on the ball in the thin air. Prater has missed two FGs so far this season but has not posted lower than 7 points in any game. He’s 3rd in the league in field goal attempts and is only owned in 12% of leagues, if he’s available, go pick him up.

Steven Hauschka Bal: He hasn’t seen his fair share of attempts so far this season, only 5, but I think the Pats do a better job of slowing down the Ravens’ offense than the Chiefs, Browns or Chargers did. I think he could be a nice flyer and is available in 98% of leagues, it never hurts to have a kicker from a team that consistently puts up points.
